West Sussex Design Commission

It was set up as an independent body, in 2004, by West Sussex County Council, to respond to concerns about the expected type and volume of future building, and the community's reaction to this. It consists of (currently):

  • A Chairman - The Rt. Hon. The Earl of Lytton
  • 11 members
  • Its Director and his Personal Assistant

In addition, it has a Wider Reference Network (WRN). This includes a great number of people, some for a short timespan and others for longer periods, who can offer help, advice and expertise.
