Public Artwork Commissioning Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for the commissioning of a number of public artworks and design led features, as part of the prestigious redevelopment of Chichester Canal Basin, directed by Chichester District Council. The project is due for completion in June 2009. MORE
To this end we are seeking expressions of interest from visual artists and designer / craft led makers so we can create a shortlist. We are particularly interested in hearing from artists with experience of working within the public realm, however, early career artists looking to extend their practice are also encouraged to apply.

• Up to 4 JPEGS of your work on disc or by email, or photos


• And / or catalogue of works including the cost of these works


• CV

One of the commissions will involve the development of a series of temporary artworks, so we are also keen to hear from artists who have experience of initiating collaborative, community based projects. Unlike the other commissions being considered, this will not necessarily need to be durable or suitable for permanent display outdoors, so artists working in any medium will be considered, including those working in film, multimedia, painting etc. If you wish to be considered for this special project, please mark the email or envelope TEMPORARY.

• CLOSING DATE: Tuesday 9th December 5p.m


• SHORTLISTED artists will be contacted by 20th December, as well as those not chosen for the shortlist. A design fee will be paid to each shortlisted artist.


• BUDGET: Will vary depending on experience / materials etc. up to a maximum of £7,000
